Who We Are

Emer Lyons, Principal Solicitor

Emer studied at University of Galway and Universite de Rennes I, France as part of her undergraduate studies.  She then went on to the Law Society of Ireland and having qualified as a Solicitor went on to complete Diplomas in Family Law, Trusts & Estate Planning, Corporate Law & Governance and a Certificate in Healthcare Law.  She underwent her professional legal training and worked for many years as a general practice solicitor in a Dublin City Centre law firm before relocating to work as a solicitor in Galway prior to setting up the firm of Lyons Skelly Solicitors in January 2022.

She has a keen interest in the French language having spent a year working in Strasbourg in addition to her undergraduate Erasmus year in Rennes.

Emer is an advocate for human rights law and has represented clients before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

She is a long-time volunteer with the Free Legal Advice Centre (FLAC) and is also involved in other access to justice projects such as Public Interest Law Alliance (PILA).

Emer is a Committee Member and Treasurer of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners Ireland Branch.

Sharon O’Neill, Solicitor

Sharon graduated from University of Limerick in 2013 having obtained a Bachelor of Law (LLB). She went on to qualify as a solicitor with the Law Society of Ireland in 2019. Sharon gained her professional experience with two Galway City law firms before joining Lyons Skelly Solicitors in 2023.

Sharon has a proven track record of providing excellent client services and approaches every situtation with diligence, care and empathy. Sharon regularly advises in Personal Injuries, Wills and Probate, Conveyancing, and Family Law.

Leaha Morrissey, Trainee Solicitor

Leaha graduated with a degree in Law and Business from University of Galway in 2023. During her undergraduate studies, Leaha completed Accelerate Mentorship and Virtual Experience Programmes with Dublin based law firms. She went on to complete a placement as a Legal Intern as part of her undergraduate studies.

Leaha joined Lyons Skelly Solicitors in December 2023 as a Trainee Solicitor.
